#Y1 D1 IRON BANNER HUNTER CLOAK MOD#
The end game would be about experimenting with crazy builds and mod combinations. I like the way it's less grindy, but there should be way more build variety. I do like the game, but it's annoying that a lot of stuff feels like an afterthought, despite this being the major sequel that could fix the problems of D1. High-level EDZ stuff should be some crazy-looking MacGyvered shit, not generic woodland army fatigues.Įxotics look okay, but IMO legendaries should look as good as exotics and exotics should be an extra level of craziness.Īpologies for the rant. They should make the low level stuff look really raggedy and falling apart, to fit the whole plot of low level guys being refugees in the European dead zone ruins. That goes double for "power fantasy" games.

And the top tier stuff is distinctive depending on what build type you're going for. When I'm switching between "legendary" level pants, I don't want to be squinting to spot the difference (this one is a bit baggier and the boot-cuffs are smaller!)Īlmost all RPGs and MMOs have the basic rule that shit looks better at level 20 than it does at level 2. The tutorial mission armour is arguably the best.

Most of the armour sets are bland as fuck (trials looks good though). I think they should have strong words with their costume designers (or possibly just hire some more).
#Y1 D1 IRON BANNER HUNTER CLOAK PATCH#
They patched a lot of life out of D1 Crucible here's hoping they patch some into D2. Even a lot of "better" more famous players didn't quite nail the finesse your snipe-throwing knife style delivered, your plays were a thing of beauty. Watching you play on stream or clips was a beautiful thing. Nothing I've seen so far looks nearly as good.Īnd as for Crucible, what a shame you didn't like it. I'm not feeling the current crop and really wish I could get the old Speaker stuff back. I actually thought of you when I first saw that the best current PvP sniper is actually a blue quality one lol. But yeah there were some hidden gems there. I'd call that an improvement, but I'll concede it's less flexible in the play styles which you can go for (bunkering down was the best option in Y1, but it was still just an option - now that option doesn't exist).Īs for the viability of blues/greens - that was an extremely brief period before the Suros/Vex/Hawkmoon onslaught. Now we have matchmaking (which I've used and, unsurprisingly, works great if you're Guiding - still hard to get a game when you're Seeking) and they are designed to keep you shooting and moving forward instead of bunkering down.

But overall NFs in Y1 were way slower, cheesier affairs with bosses who were on the whole less interactive than they are now. It's even more challenging to do it now (still doable though). And yet whatever I do still feels like a complete waste of time because there is no variation therein.Ĭlick to expand. In terms of NF: it was challenging before to do it without getting Orbited. I appreciate that Destiny 2 doesn't tell me what I ought to be doing. At least you can enjoy a game of Crucible. There were plenty of unique ones, and you weren't forced to wear a legendary at launch. I also disagree with variety when it comes to class items. And the Factions dropped some of the best weapons in the game. I used a Rare and Common Sniper in Crucible competitively for the first 6 months of the game, and actively sought out those kinds of weapons. That reflects more on the class of weapons itself than on the weapons themselves. There were plenty of good ones after that point that weren't worth using because the archetypes got nerfed into the ground. The same thing happened to Autos and Fusion Rifles by the time HoW rolled around. Pulses sucked because the archetype was too weak, but we saw what happened when they got buffed. You forgot about Cydonia, Gallaad, Shingen-E, which were all competitive at launch. Those were easily fixable flaws that were exploited, but I otherwise enjoyed the difficulty level and penalty of starting over when it was played as intended - especially as a solo experience. I'm not gonna argue that sniping Nexus Mind from the top of the map while one guy shotgunned the Minotaur was smart boss design.
